CRISIS DE-ESCALATION TRAINING

(FOR ORGANIZATIONS)

I just see red. Everything else disappears.

In crisis, sometimes all you can see is red. All logic can disappear. Feelings can overwhelm us.

Some of us can emotionally regulate ourselves, but, many individuals never acquired such skills. This means that small situations easily and quickly can escalate from 0 to 100.

De-escalating crisis is hard, but powerful work. Let me guide you through it. I come from the world of disaster humanitarian work & NYC inner city schools and I bring over 16 years of international crisis experience and therapeutic technique.

Crisis De-escalation Training

De-escalating a crisis requires scanning the room in front of you, assessing warning signs, self regulating, noticing what is invisible and unsaid and then thoughtfully taking action. So much is going on at once!

This de-escalation training gives you the skills to think with both a clinical and cultural lens to explore these core questions:

  • How do I slow myself down to do a full assessment of what is really going on?

  • What are the nonverbal & verbal messages others telling me?

  • What is not being said?

  • What are the possible core psychological reasons behind this crisis?

  • What is the ultimate deep need(s) of the person(s) involved?

  • What key steps do I need to follow to help de-escalate this crisis?

WE ARE EACH TRYING TO GET A NEED MET. WHAT IS THAT NEED?
